About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Battle Creek is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses provide compassionate care and treatment to patients during vulnerable stages of their recovery. The role is located on the 6th floor of Bronson Battle Creek Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan, and is a per diem dayshift position scheduled from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. The minimum per diem commitment is four shifts in a six-week period. The hospital provides an extensive RN orientation program and notes that demonstrated skills and dedication could lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using appropriate systems.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Demonstrate competence in Rapid Response and code events.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
