About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Registered Nurse provides compassionate care to patients and supports their treatment and recovery. The position is per diem in Richmond, Virginia, with 12-hour shifts and day and night options. The minimum per diem commitment is four shifts in a six-week period. The hospital provides an extensive RN orientation program, and strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner using appropriate systems.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Demonstrate competence in rapid response and code events.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
