About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Battle Creek is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses provide compassionate care and treatment to patients throughout their recovery. This per diem role is based on the sixth floor of Bronson Battle Creek Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan, and offers day or night shifts. Per diem nurses must work at least four shifts in a six-week period. The role may provide an opportunity to move into a full-time position based on skills and dedication. Requirements

Valid state RN license.
BLS certification required at hire.
ACLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
Document in a timely and accurate manner using appropriate systems.
Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
Demonstrate competence in Rapid Response and code events.
Instruct and counsel patients and families.
Perform other duties as assigned.
