About The Position

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, a UPMC and Select Medical partnership, is hiring a per-diem Registered Nurse at a facility inside UPMC Osteopathic. The hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for individuals facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role includes an extensive orientation program and may offer a path to potential full-time opportunities. Per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) participation after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year. Compensation is $50.00 per hour, with shift differentials for nights and weekends and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Valid state RN license.
• At least one year of RN experience.
• BLS certification required at hire.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or enrollment in a BSN program.
• Clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers.
• Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using EPIC.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
