About The Position

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, an UPMC and Select Medical partnership, is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse to work inside UPMC Osteopathic. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges associated with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

The role includes an extensive orientation program to support transition into the setting. The employer notes that demonstrated skills and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Requirements

• Valid state RN license.
• At least one year of RN experience.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• Complete post-offer employment testing (POETs) before the first day of work.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or enrollment in a BSN program.
• Clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers.
• Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Document care accurately and promptly using EPIC.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
