About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support an excellent patient experience. The role offers opportunities to influence patient care through collaboration with a direct manager, hospital councils, and nursing initiatives. This is a full-time night position. An RN with at least one year of acute care experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.
• Associate degree.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with medical providers to deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Advocate for patients to support a positive patient experience.
