About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), also described as a Step-Down Unit (SDU), which bridges intensive care and general care. The nurse cares for complex, higher-acuity patients and develops advanced clinical skills while working with a multidisciplinary team focused on support, safety, and quality care. The role is full-time on the night shift. Newly licensed nurses and experienced nurses are invited to apply; the posting requires one year of RN experience.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited RN program.
Indiana RN license.
CPR certification upon hire or ability to attain it within 60 days.
One year of RN experience.

Nice To Haves

PCCN certification or interest in pursuing certifications.
Interest in cross-training or advancement into charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical ladder leadership roles.

Responsibilities

Care for higher-acuity patients, including those receiving cardiac drips, post-operative recovery, telemetry, and respiratory support.
Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond in real time.
Collaborate with providers, therapists, pharmacists, and other nurses to coordinate care.
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health promotion.
Document assessments, medications, and interventions accurately and promptly in the EHR system.
