About The Position

Provides safe, therapeutic nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Works as a member of interdisciplinary and nursing teams, follows established nursing procedures, and performs related duties as required. Cares for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision, and assists in managing care delivered by other nursing-team members.

In the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, care includes medical interventions for acute and chronic heart failure, septic shock, and renal and respiratory failure. Critically ill children may receive mechanical ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, ventricular assist devices, temporary pacemaker therapy, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, and acute hemodialysis.

Requirements

• At least two years of recent RN experience in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU.
• Recent experience working with pediatric congenital heart disease (CHD) and heart failure patients.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• Active American Heart Association PALS Certification.

Nice To Haves

• CCRN Certification.
