About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carries out established nursing procedures, and performs related duties as required. Provides nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Requirements

• A minimum of two years of PICU registered nurse experience.
• Ventilator management.
• Pain and sedation management.
• Advanced patient monitoring.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of California.
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• Current Healthcare Provider PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Nice To Haves

• Recent inpatient Pediatric ICU nursing experience within the last year.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the knowledge and abilities essential to performing the stated behaviors.
• Carry out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide safe, therapeutic patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams and carry out established nursing procedures.
• Provide nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision.
• Assist with management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
