About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in the Emergency Department in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is based at UAB St. Vincent’s St. Clair in Pell City, Alabama. Full-time night and evening shifts are available, along with a weekends-only PRN option. Requirements

• BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
• Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 180 days of hire or job transfer.
• PALS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 180 days of hire or job transfer.
• Alabama Board of Nursing Registered Nurse credential obtained before hire or job transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.
• For the Freestanding Emergency Room, at least one year of critical care or emergency experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Coordinate care as the primary coordinator across disciplines.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
