About The Position

MultiCare is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join its hospital-based Family Birth Center team at Tacoma General Hospital. The nurse will use specialized training, knowledge, and nursing care in a multidisciplinary setting. The role supports MultiCare’s effort to build a best-in-class nursing organization, where nurses participate in clinical decision-making, communicate openly with colleagues, receive professional-development support, and understand the future of nursing at MultiCare. The position is scheduled at 0.9 FTE, working 12-hour night shifts.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS, NALS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP certification, as required by the facility or department.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
• Certification in a specialty area.
• One year of experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
• Use nursing education and experience to deliver care through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
• Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
• Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes patient autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
