About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across settings and throughout the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs. Within the Mayo Nursing Care Model, the RN plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates all phases of care for assigned patients, using the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice as a basis for practice. The RN provides leadership through precepting, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts; delegates patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and available resources; and uses strong communication, mentoring, and teaching skills.
