About The Position
Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is a 170-bed acute care hospital serving the greater Truckee Meadows. The ICU Registered Nurse provides safe, competent nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy, and provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Patient-centered care is the foundation for nursing care, and the nurse demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. This is a full-time position with a flexible night shift schedule. The position requires two years of ICU RN experience for the $15,000 sign-on bonus. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved registered nursing program.
- Current Nevada nursing license.
- Current ACLS and BLS certificates.
- Handle with Care certification, or obtain it within six months of employment.
- Two years of ICU RN experience required for the advertised $15,000 sign-on bonus.
Nice To Haves
- One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Include patients’ and families’ psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs in care assessments.
- Construct and implement plans of care using nursing knowledge and skills, integrating direct and indirect patient-care activities related to diagnoses and comorbidities.
- Coordinate implementation of interdisciplinary plans of care for assigned patients.
- Develop goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient and family needs.
- Complete purposeful hourly rounds to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs, including pain management, repositioning, and toileting.
- Proactively evaluate the care environment to ensure it is patient-friendly and safe.
- Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
