Registered Nurse - Psych Emergency Services
About The Position
Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Psych Emergency Services. The RN provides care to patients experiencing behavioral health needs, including psychiatric crisis intervention, therapeutic groups, and seclusion and restraint when needed. The role includes treating and educating patients, offering advice and emotional support to patients and family members, and supporting patient follow-up and rehabilitation. The RN records medical histories and symptoms, assists with diagnostic tests and analysis, operates medical machinery, and administers treatments and medications. The nurse also teaches patients and families how to manage illness or injury, follow diet and exercise programs, and self-administer medication and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
