About The Position
The Float Registered Nurse provides high-quality, flexible nursing care across various hospital units. The role helps maintain the quality and continuity of patient care and ensures patient needs are met efficiently and effectively. The nurse delivers care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practices; adapts to different units and medical-surgical procedures; communicates with patients, families, and healthcare team members; educates patients and caregivers; and manages emergent needs, admissions, and hospital rounds.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Connecticut.
- At least 1 year of inpatient hospital RN experience.
- BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required for certain departments.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practices.
- Adapt to different units and medical-surgical procedures as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Educate patients and caregivers about care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Manage emergent patient needs, admissions, and hospital rounds.
