About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 16-bed 2F Step-Down ICU, an intermediate level of care unit between inpatient and critical care units. The unit specializes in septic and respiratory-compromised patients, including those with COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, and also cares for patients with conditions such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis needs, and altered mental status. Nurses work with an interdisciplinary team to care for a high-acuity patient population, develop assessment skills, and manage drips and specialized procedures. The unit is also a potential steppingstone for RNs building skills for ICU work. The Registered Nurse provides and is accountable for direct, comprehensive nursing care from admission through discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. This is a part-time, benefit-eligible role scheduled for 24 hours per week on nights, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Experienced external candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Requirements

Current Indiana or compact-state RN license.
BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
ACLS certification, to be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to patients from admission to discharge.
Be accountable for the nursing care provided.
Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers.
Work closely with an interdisciplinary team to care for a high-acuity patient population.
Develop assessment skills while managing several drips and specialized procedures.
