About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 2F Step-Down ICU. This is a part-time position of 24 hours weekly, working nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday as part of the Weekend Only Work (WOW) schedule. The position is benefit eligible and may qualify for a sign-on bonus for experienced external candidates. WOW shifts receive premium pay. The RN provides and is accountable for comprehensive direct nursing care from patient admission through discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The 16-bed 2F unit provides intermediate-level care between inpatient and critical care units. It specializes in septic and respiratory-compromised patients, including those with COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, and also cares for patients with a variety of other diagnoses. Nurses work with an interdisciplinary team and care for a high-acuity population, developing assessment skills while managing drips and specialized procedures. The unit's collaboration and proximity to the ICU can help RNs build a foundation of skills for ICU practice.

Requirements

Current Indiana or compact-state RN license.
BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
ACLS certification, to be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide and be accountable for comprehensive direct nursing care from patient admission through discharge.
Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers.
Care for a high-acuity patient population in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
Manage several drips and perform specialized procedures.
