About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its 2F Step-Down ICU. Under general supervision and according to established procedures, the Nursing Assistant functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of the nurse, providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient-care unit maintenance tasks.

The 16-bed Step-Down ICU is an intermediate level of care between the inpatient units and critical care units. The unit specializes in caring for patients with sepsis and respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, as well as patients with a variety of other diagnoses. Nursing Assistants provide care to a high-acuity patient population. The unit offers an opportunity to cultivate and expand skills, and its proximity to and collaboration with the ICU can help Nursing Assistants build a foundation of skills for working in the ICU.

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position working 36 hours per week on nights, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Baptist Health Floyd is a Pathway to Excellence® designated organization. The employer describes its salaries as competitive and its benefits as excellent.

Requirements

• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• CNA qualification is preferred but not required.
