About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its 2F Step-Down ICU. Under general supervision and according to established procedures, the Nursing Assistant works as an on-shift team member under the direction of a nurse, providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks. The Step-Down ICU, also known as 2F, is a 16-bed intermediate level of care unit between the inpatient units and critical care units. It specializes in caring for patients with sepsis and respiratory complications, including COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, as well as patients with diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, and altered mental status. Nursing Assistants provide care to a high-acuity patient population and can cultivate and expand their skills. The unit’s proximity and collaboration with the ICU can help Nursing Assistants build a foundation of skills for success in the ICU. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position working 36 hours weekly on nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Baptist Health Floyd is a Pathway to Excellence® designated organization and offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits. Requirements

BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required.
Previous Nursing Assistant experience is required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.
CNA qualification; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
