Nursing Assistant 2F Step Down ICU FT Days
About The Position
Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its 2F Step-Down ICU. Under general supervision and according to established procedures, the Nursing Assistant functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of a nurse, providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks. The 16-bed Step-Down ICU is an intermediate level of care between inpatient units and critical care units. The unit specializes in caring for patients with sepsis and respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, and also treats patients with diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, and altered mental status. Nursing Assistants provide care for a high-acuity patient population and can cultivate and expand their skills, with the unit serving as a potential steppingstone for building skills for ICU work. This is a benefit-eligible, full-time position working 36 hours per week on days, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Baptist Health Floyd is a Pathway to Excellence® designated organization and offers competitive salaries and benefits. Requirements
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required.
- Previous Nursing Assistant experience is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); preferred but not required.
