The RN collaborates with interprofessional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The role provides nursing interventions across preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move through the continuum of care. The RN plans and coordinates care, assesses and educates patients, provides triage, and practices within applicable nursing standards, the Nurse Practice Act, and state administrative rules. The position follows Sanford’s professional nursing practice foundation, including the American Nurses Association’s Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses.
