About The Position

Hospice Home Care is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse in Little Rock, Arkansas, to provide after-hours hospice care to patients and support their families. The role follows a schedule of seven days on and seven days off and involves working with the Remote Triage On Call Team. The RN provides hands-on care, responds to urgent symptoms, communicates with physicians and the hospice team, and offers guidance to patients and families. When a death occurs during on-call hours, the RN visits the home or facility to pronounce death and support the family. Hospice Home Care is an affiliate of Adoration Health and provides hospice services focused on pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, and quality of life.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current licensure to practice in the state of operation.
• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
• Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured according to state or organization requirements and in good working order.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Remote Triage On Call Team to provide hands-on after-hours care to hospice patients and supportive services to their families.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms promptly and compassionately.
• Administer medication or adjust care according to hospice protocols or provider orders.
• Communicate changes in the patient’s condition to the physician and obtain orders as necessary.
• Guide and support patients and families in understanding the current condition and anticipating next steps.
• If a death occurs during on-call hours, visit the home or facility to pronounce death, support the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team.
• Complete timely documentation and communication.
