About The Position

Hospice Home Care is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse in Searcy, Arkansas. The RN provides hands-on hospice care to patients and supportive services to their families during after-hours, collaborating with the Remote Triage On Call Team. The schedule is seven days on and seven days off.

The nurse assesses and manages urgent symptoms, administers medication or adjusts care according to hospice protocols or provider orders, and communicates with physicians about changes in condition. The role also involves guiding patients and families through the current condition and anticipated next steps. When a death occurs during on-call hours, the RN visits the home or facility to pronounce death, support the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team. Timely documentation and communication are required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current licensure to practice in the state of operation.
• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
• Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured according to state or organization requirements and in good working order.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred.

• When a death occurs during on-call hours, visit the home or facility to pronounce death, support the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team.
• Complete timely documentation and communication.
