About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in a 55-bed Med Surg Oncology unit at Genesys Health System. The unit focuses on inpatient chemotherapy and also provides inpatient hospice care. It is a fast-paced environment with a high volume of admissions and discharges. The role involves using independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing services. Nurses will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, demonstrating clinical competence, compassion, and a focus on patient outcomes and cost-consciousness.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum of 1 year RN experience; if Nurse Resident, all residency requirements must be completed including clinical requirements.
Current RN licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Nice To Haves

IV skills preferred.
BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.
