About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in a 55-bed Medical Surgical Oncology unit at Genesys, which serves as the inpatient chemotherapy unit. The role involves providing inpatient hospice care and requires strong IV skills. It is a fast-paced unit with a high volume of admissions and discharges. The nurse will use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services. The position emphasizes clinical competence, compassion, customer service, focus on process and outcomes, and cost-consciousness in patient care. The role involves leadership and coordination of quality patient care during weekend shifts, supporting patients and their families through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 months of hire date.
• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date.
• Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.

Nice To Haves

• IV skills preferred.
• Chemo training after 6 months.

Responsibilities
