Registered Nurse Med Surg FT MNT Genesys
About The Position
This is a Registered Nurse position in a 55-bed Med Surg Oncology unit at Genesys, which serves as the inpatient Chemo unit. The role involves providing inpatient Hospice care and requires strong IV skills. It is a fast-paced unit with a high volume of admissions and discharges. The Registered Nurse uses independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients. The nurse demonstrates clinical competence, compassion, customer service orientation, focus on process and outcomes, and cost-consciousness when assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience; if Nurse Resident, all residency requirements must be completed including clinical requirements.
- Current RN licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
Nice To Haves
- IV skills preferred.
- BSN preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
- Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
- Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.
