About The Position
This is a Part Time, Midnight Shift position (5 - 12 hour shifts - bi-weekly) with every 3rd weekend rotation. The unit is a 55 Bed Med Surg Oncology, Hospital Unit, which serves as the inpatient Chemo unit. The role involves providing inpatient Hospice care and requires IV skills. It is a fast-paced unit that sees a heavy volume of admissions and discharges. The Registered Nurse uses independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients. Within the framework of the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner's Domains of Nursing Practice, the nurse demonstrates clinical competence; compassion and customer service orientation; focus on process and outcomes; and cost-consciousness when assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience; if Nurse Resident, all residency requirements must be completed including clinical requirements.
- Current RN licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
- Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
- Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.
