About The Position

This is a Part Time, Day Shift position (5 - 12 hour shifts - bi-weekly) with every 3rd weekend rotation. The role is on a 55 Bed Med Surg Oncology unit, which serves as the inpatient Chemo unit. The unit handles a small number of Chemo treatments monthly and offers Chemo training after 6 months. It also provides inpatient Hospice care. IV skills are preferred. This is a fast-paced unit with a high volume of admissions and discharges. As an RN, you will use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients. Within the framework of the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner's Domains of Nursing Practice, you will demonstrate clinical competence, compassion, and customer service orientation, with a focus on process and outcomes, and cost-consciousness when assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum of 1 year RN experience; if Nurse Resident, all residency requirements must be completed including clinical requirements.
Current RN licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.
