About The Position

The Registered Nurse Virtual Care role coordinates care, educates clients, and provides protocol-driven interventions within the nursing scope of practice to support clinical and whole-health outcomes. The position takes a collaborative approach to coordinating healthcare services for a defined population across the continuum. Duties include virtual assessments of healthcare needs, collaboration and coordination with healthcare providers, and development and documentation of care plans. The RN also delivers excellent customer service and works with colleagues to meet quality and performance standards. This is an onsite position at 600 Courtland Street in Orlando, Florida; it is not remote. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Courtland office. Training and scheduled shifts take place onsite. The schedule consists of three 8-hour shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, including one weekend shift per week. Schedules and hours may change based on operational needs. Candidates must disclose current employment and scheduled work hours. A BSN is preferred at hire; nurses hired without one must obtain it within two years of employment.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Nursing.
At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative to resolve inquiries and issues.
Personal commitment to promoting and providing excellent customer service.
Interpersonal, customer-relations, and communication skills, including patience when interacting with consumers and colleagues.
Desire to continuously learn, improve service delivery, and work in a team environment.
Ability to listen and document notes simultaneously.
Ability to maintain a high-energy, positive attitude.
Ability to adapt quickly to change and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
Effective oral and written communication in English.
Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs and Adobe.
Technological aptitude to master additional programs and technologies, including CRM, telephony, electronic health records, and other potential systems.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Nursing; nurses hired without a BSN must obtain one within two years of employment.
At least 1 year of virtual care monitoring or care experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Maintain working knowledge of service offerings, workflows, and required technologies.
Respond courteously and provide excellent customer service to consumers, clinic staff, physicians, colleagues, and leaders.
Work with staff and supervisors to meet established performance metrics.
Maintain knowledge of AdventHealth services and offerings to direct inquiries appropriately when they are outside the service’s scope.
Provide virtual clinical care and customer care within the nursing scope of practice.
Use critical thinking and decisive judgment to triage symptomatic consumers in accordance with scope of practice.
Elicit callers’ questions, concerns, and information to assess symptoms, determine acuity, identify the appropriate algorithm or protocol, and develop care plans and follow-up.
Provide professional advice, education, and options based on assessment, established algorithms or protocols, and clinical judgment; escalate to emergency response services when appropriate.
Refer consumers to healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate, and assist with follow-up or appointment scheduling as needed.
Use proper escalation procedures when issues arise.
Follow established workflows, scripts, and department greetings.
Document all interactions and consistently update consumer records in relevant technology systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
