About The Position

Peterson Health is hiring full-time Acute Rehab Registered Nurses for day and night shifts. Nurses work 12-hour shifts: days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The RN assesses each patient’s needs and plans nursing care to address spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. The RN ensures that the plan of care is carried out, either through direct care or by leading subordinate personnel, and evaluates and documents patients’ responses to care. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse license.
Basic Life Support certification.
Patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Knowledge and ability to perform skills required for unit-specific and age-specific competencies.
Eligibility to participate in a new RN Preceptorship program.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Advanced competencies demonstrated through participation in formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.
Six to twelve months of experience as an RN in an inpatient medical-surgical setting.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Assess each patient’s needs on the unit.
Plan nursing care to meet patients’ spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs.
Carry out the plan of care through direct performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.
Evaluate patients’ responses to care verbally and in writing.
