About The Position

Peterson Health is hiring full-time Acute Rehab Registered Nurses for day and night shifts. The position works 12-hour shifts: days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The RN assesses each patient's needs and plans nursing care to address spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. The RN ensures the plan of care is carried out through personal performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel, then evaluates and documents the patient's response verbally and in writing. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse license.
Basic Life Support certification.
Patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Knowledge and ability to perform skills required for unit-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies.
Eligibility to participate in a new RN Preceptorship program.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Advanced competencies demonstrated through participation in formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.
Six to twelve months of experience as an RN in an inpatient medical-surgical setting.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Assess the needs of each patient on the unit.
Plan nursing care to meet patients' spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs.
Carry out the plan of care through personal performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.
Evaluate patients' responses to care and document them verbally and in writing.
