Registered Nurse (RN) Acute Rehab
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The RN uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills to help create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The position is in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting serving adults with a wide range of diagnoses, including stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, and other neurological conditions. The department emphasizes teamwork, communication, multitasking, engagement, and helping patients prepare to return home. Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is a 645-bed nonprofit teaching hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, with a Level I trauma center.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
- Coordinate patient care and deliver safe, therapeutic care according to established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care.
- Apply compassion and communication skills to support a safe patient environment and positive patient experience across the continuum.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to support adult patients with a range of diagnoses and help prepare them to return home.
