Registered Nurse - Acute Rehab
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the Acute Rehab department at Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. The role delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and provides direct care within the scope of practice. The nurse guides patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is accountable for care delivered to assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The role requires responding quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment. The position is part-time on a day schedule, 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays and self-scheduling. Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
Nice To Haves
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained current (preferred).
- Previous acute care hospital experience (preferred).
- Ventilator management experience (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintain standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
