About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work in a 29-bed General Surgery unit treating a wide range of surgical and trauma patients. Patients typically stay 1–7 days, with longer stays possible due to surgical complexity. The unit cares for patients undergoing general surgery, colorectal, dental, trauma, plastic, and weight-loss procedures, and provides acute care for adult burn patients. The nurse will be part of a multidisciplinary team described as flexible, supportive, and willing to teach. The organization supports nurses’ professional growth through certifications, continued education opportunities, and the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP). This is a bargaining union position. On-call duty is not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to surgical and trauma patients in a 29-bed General Surgery unit.
- Care for patients who have undergone general, colorectal, dental, trauma, plastic, and weight-loss surgeries.
- Provide acute care for adult burn patients.
