Registered Nurse - General Surgery - Baird 6
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work in the 29-bed General Surgery unit at UVMMC Medical Center’s Main Campus in Burlington, Vermont. The unit treats a wide range of surgical and trauma patients, with stays typically ranging from 1 to 7 days and potentially longer depending on surgical complexity. Patients may have undergone general, colorectal, dental, trauma, plastic, or weight-loss surgery. The nurse will also provide acute care to adult burn patients. The role is part time, with 24 standard hours per week and 48 biweekly scheduled hours, on a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend; on-call duty is not required. This is a bargaining union position. The unit is a multidisciplinary team that supports nurses’ professional growth through certifications, continued education opportunities, and the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
