About The Position

Inova Behavioral Health Services is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Registered Nurse for its Merrifield Clinic. The nurse provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic manner in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. The role incorporates differences into care and integrates knowledge, skills, and experience to meet the needs of patients and families, including through education. The nurse works toward desired patient outcomes using an integrated approach, applies data and information to improve care and outcomes, and supports improvements in practice settings. The nurse also provides direction and guidance to others and serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.

This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday day-shift role consisting of five 8-hour shifts. The clinic is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekends, holidays, or call shifts.

Requirements

• BSN or ADN; ADN holders must complete a BSN within five years of the start date.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• RN license and eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficiency in English and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience dealing with substance use withdrawal is strongly preferred.
• Previous inpatient experience in medical-surgical or critical care.
