About The Position

Meadowview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient Surgery to provide patient care in its surgical services department. The department has four dedicated operating rooms and a separate operating room for cesarean sections. The role is full-time, day shift, with 10-hour schedules that fluctuate between 6 a.m.–4 p.m. and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. A sign-on bonus is offered based on eligibility. The nurse performs care-plan interventions, documents care and monitors patient condition, coordinates care with the healthcare team, and supports patients and families through education and advocacy. The role also includes assisting with activities of daily living, coordinating transfers and discharges, participating in performance improvement and continuing education, and maintaining regular, reliable attendance.

Requirements

Current active Kentucky RN license, either single-state or compact; a current Kentucky or compact-state RN license is required.
Associate’s degree required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.

Responsibilities

Perform care-plan interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
