About The Position

Inova Behavioral Health Services is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to work in outpatient addiction services at its Merrifield Clinic. The Registered Nurse Outpatient provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. The nurse incorporates differences into care and uses knowledge, skills, and experience to meet the needs of patients and families, including providing education. The role uses an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes, applies data and information to improve care and outcomes, and supports improvements in practice settings. The nurse also provides direction and guidance to others and serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.

This is a full-time day-shift position, Monday through Friday, consisting of five 8-hour shifts. The clinic is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekends, holidays, or call responsibilities.

Requirements

• BSN or ADN; ADN graduates must complete a BSN within five years of the start date.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.
• RN license and eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficiency in English and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience dealing with substance use withdrawal is strongly preferred.
• Previous inpatient experience in medical-surgical or critical care.
