About The Position

Provides safe and effective patient care in the Intensive and Intermediate Care setting, using a systems theory approach that includes assessment, goal setting, and outcome evaluation. Practices within the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act and Anderson Hospital policies and procedures, and autonomously in accordance with professional nursing standards. Provides care primarily to adult and geriatric populations. Performance expectations are defined in the competency evaluation.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Illinois nursing license or eligibility for licensure.
BLS certification required.
ACLS certification required.
12-lead EKG interpretation required.
Impella and balloon pump training required.

Nice To Haves

One year of telemetry or critical care experience preferred.

Use the nursing process effectively to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes.
Engage in activities that expand or enhance the professional nursing role, including integrating research and evidence-based practices.
Provide leadership and autonomy in the professional practice setting and the nursing profession.
Support patients’ rights and responsibilities, respecting cultural, ethical, and religious diversity.
Provide safe, skillful, accurate, efficient, age-appropriate, and population-specific care to adult and/or geriatric critical care populations.
Assess patient and family learning needs and provide ongoing education and evaluation.
Document readiness to learn, teaching, barriers, and outcomes.
Complete documentation accurately and promptly according to hospital policies and procedures.
Adhere to standard precautions and infection control standards.
Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team calls and delegate appropriately.
Remain flexible with scheduling, assignments, and job duties as necessary.
