Intensive Care Registered Nurse PRN Days
About The Position
The Intensive Care Registered Nurse works in a 20-bed critical care unit specializing in neurologic care. Nurses encounter a range of care needs, including stroke, postoperative neurosurgery, ventricular drains, abdominal pressure monitoring, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and hypothermia. The role assesses and identifies patient needs, implements appropriate interventions, establishes and maintains plans for nursing care, directs care activities toward resolving problems, and performs technical aspects of care competently. The nurse also serves as a resource for patients and families throughout the critical care journey. The position is PRN for days, with one 12-hour shift.
Requirements
- Active Kentucky nursing license.
- BCLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
- ACLS certification required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
