About The Position

Pampa Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN) to provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from surgery, managing acute or chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Med-surg nurses care for a varied patient population and play an important role in the hospital’s nursing services.

Pampa Regional Medical Center is a 25-bed critical-access hospital in the Texas Panhandle, offering surgical and medical services including heart care, emergency services, urgent care, and surgical services.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current; preferred.
• Previous acute-care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients’ physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs, intake and output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions.
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status.
• Safely administer prescribed oral, IV, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions.
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure patients’ needs are met.
• Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• Communicate with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans.
