About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers individualized, safe, and excellent patient care in the Emergency Department using current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The role includes communicating with patients and the healthcare team about patient status, care, and treatment plans; administering medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies; and documenting assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations in the Point-of-Care electronic system. The nurse also provides patient- and family-centered education and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to support safe discharge and continuity of care.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
At least 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire a BSN within three years of hire.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Strong accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.

Ability and passion to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.

Nice To Haves

ACLS certification.
PALS certification.
Two years of Emergency nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care based on current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care.
Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations in the Point-of-Care electronic system.
Provide patient- and family-centered education to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Collaborate in discharging patients to support safe transitions and continuity of care.
