About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work in the Cancer Center in the Hope Tower at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The role provides individualized outpatient infusion nursing care using current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The nurse communicates with patients and the health care team, administers medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies, documents patient assessments and care electronically, educates patients and families, and participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning to support safe transitions and continuity of care. The position requires 10-hour shifts.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
At least 6 months of nursing experience, or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
Obtain Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification within 30 days.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire a BSN within three years of hire.
Willingness to work 10-hour shifts.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Strong accountability, teamwork, commitment to ongoing education, and focus on delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

Oncology nursing experience.
OCN certification.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care in accordance with up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to ensure safe, high-quality, individualized patient care.
Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other health care team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations through ongoing point-of-care electronic documentation.
Educate patients and families to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe patient transitions and continuity of care.
