About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides individualized, safe, and excellent patient care using current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The role involves communicating with patients and the healthcare team about patient status, care, and treatment plans; administering medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies; and maintaining ongoing electronic point-of-care documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations. The nurse also provides education to patients and families and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to support safe discharge and continuity of care.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey nursing license.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
At least 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to obtain a BSN within three years of hire.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Strong accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.

Ability and passion to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care in accordance with current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care.
Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations through point-of-care electronic documentation.
Educate patients and families to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Coordinate patient discharges with the multidisciplinary team to support safe transitions and continuity of care.
