About The Position

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health delivers individualized, safe, high-quality patient care using current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care. The role involves ongoing communication with patients and the healthcare team, medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies, and electronic point-of-care documentation of patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes. The nurse also provides education to patients and families and collaborates on discharges to support safe transitions and continuity of care.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey nursing license.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
ACLS certification.
At least 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
Accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers.
Strong teamwork, commitment to ongoing education, and ability and passion to provide high-quality, patient-focused care and service.

Nice To Haves

Telemetry experience preferred.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire one within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

Deliver individualized nursing care according to current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care.
Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations through point-of-care electronic systems.
Educate patients and families to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Coordinate patient discharges with the multidisciplinary team to support safe transitions and continuity of care.
