About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains professional accountability for care provided to assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Requirements

• Graduate from a school of nursing; an associate’s degree, diploma, or BSN is accepted.
• Obtain and maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure for the state where nursing duties are performed, and meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Current life support certification upon hire, in alignment with Mercy policy no later than 90 days after hire. Certification requirements: BLS for Med Surg and Women’s and Children’s; BLS and ACLS for Critical Care; BLS, ACLS, and PALS for the ED.
• Able to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly; stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift; and grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
