About The Position

Purdy Veterinary Hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington, is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join its collaborative, close-knit team. The established, exclusively small-animal hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats and has served the community since the 1980s. The practice emphasizes high-quality medicine, teamwork, communication, and lasting relationships with clients and their pets. The hospital has five exam rooms, a spacious treatment area, a dedicated surgical suite, a dental treatment station, an in-house laboratory area, a pharmacy, brand-new ultrasound equipment, and paperless medical records. Veterinary assistants support the doctors, with a goal of one assistant per doctor. Appointments are typically 15–30 minutes, most often 30 minutes, to allow time for individualized care. Veterinarians collaborate on cases and can practice independently while receiving support from colleagues. The schedule offers three- or four-day work weeks, with no on-call or after-hours requirements. Surgery and dentistry are optional; veterinarians interested in these areas may have a dedicated morning each week for them. The position offers a ProSal compensation model, a base salary of $130,000–$170,000 depending on experience, and a quarterly production bonus with no negative accrual. Relocation assistance is available.
