Petco Veterinary Services offers relief veterinarians the opportunity to work in Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospitals. The role provides flexible online scheduling, with weekday and weekend shifts and no minimum or maximum number of shifts. Veterinarians set their own rate for each shift, may continue practice activities outside Petco shifts, and are not charged agency fees. An appointment-based model helps manage patient flow and supports on-time departures, while trained staff handles clinic operations so veterinarians can focus on care. Clinic news, policy updates, and product announcements are shared through a monthly newsletter. Relief veterinarians also receive a 15% discount on Petco products and services. Vetco Vaccination Clinics provide basic wellness checks, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip placement. They do not provide surgery, emergency, or illness care. Locations are primarily inside Petco stores, with some operating from mobile van units. Vetco Total Care hospitals provide preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgery, and dental procedures. Hospital equipment includes digital dental X-rays, Butterfly IQ+ Vet ultrasound imaging, and equipped surgery suites. The role does not involve overnight or emergency on-call shifts. Washington state bid rates average $122.00–$153.00 per hour; rates may vary by clinic location and shift duration.
