Registered Nurse- MedSurg 4A (24 Hours, Days, 7a-7:30p)
About The Position
Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for MedSurg 4A, a 34-bed medical unit. The Medical-Surgical Units at Boston Medical Center – South provide comprehensive inpatient care to a diverse patient population, including patients receiving post-surgical, orthopedic, ortho-spine, bariatric, and hospice care. Nurses and interdisciplinary teams deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on recovery, stabilization, and discharge planning, and support safe transitions to higher levels of care, rehabilitation, or home. The Registered Nurse delivers exceptional care using a patient-centered care model, supported by BMC’s nursing organization. The position is scheduled for 24 hours per week on days, 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Nursing diploma, Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); ability to obtain a BSN within four years is required.
- Current Massachusetts RN license.
- Current BLS certification.

- BSN preferred.
- Prior acute Med/Surg experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and their families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to interprofessional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records.
- Enter and interpret computerized data and information.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
- Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed.
