About The Position

Boston Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse for MedSurg 4A, a 34-bed medical unit. The nurse delivers evidence-based, patient-centered inpatient care to patients with diverse medical and post-surgical needs, supporting recovery, stabilization, and discharge planning. Nurses work with interdisciplinary teams to help ensure safe transitions to higher levels of care, rehabilitation, or home. The role is part of BMC’s Magnet-recognized nursing organization and its mission to provide exceptional and equitable care. The position is scheduled for 24 hours per week on the night shift, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Nursing diploma, Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); ability to obtain a BSN within four years is required.
• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• BSN.
• Prior acute Medical-Surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to interprofessional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data and information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed.
